Although it could be said that this is a small step towards a Google Empire and a little self indulgent, we all need to dream and sometimes the best ideas come from those little dreams. There are some theory’s afloat on the next stage of the internet and it's being called Web 3.0. The theories involve Artificial Intelligence, Browser-less surfing and greater graphic advancements or what can be seen as intelligent computing.
Web 3.0 is basically a way of making the internet smarter, more accessible and engaging. It’s a term defining what creators and users would like to see. A problem arising here could be that the architects are usually the people who have monetary involvement and wish to direct or control the next phase of the Internet. This is why open source projects which have shaped Web 2.0 are so important and must continue.
Although I wish web 3.0 would solve major world problems like war, famine and poverty I don't thing it can. However, I know that it will greatly impact on science, education and the arts and in-turn impact on and solve greater problems which shape society and the world. So what ever form it takes and however much of the speculation becomes reality, web 3.0 will greatly change the amount of and way that we share information and hopefully for the greater good of man.
